Black Widows and AD arrows
« on: May 10, 2008, 09:40:00 AM »
Can anyone give me their experiences with shooting the AD arrows off of a Black Widow? I just purchased a PSA X @ 55 pounds and want to try shooting these arrows. I will be using a 150 grain heads and I draw 29 inches. Any advice would be appreciated.

I shoot AD Heavies, cut to 29", with 175 grain heads.   I pull 27 1/2, and my 3 Widows (two SAs and 1 TF) are 55 to 58 lbs at 28".   The arrows weigh about 560 grains.   They fly well.   You will find that AD's fly well out most bows.  At least they do for me.

I agree with Irish in that the AD's fly well from most bows.  I shoot 52-55# Widows (MA, SA, TF) and have good luck with the AD heavies. I draw 27" with arrows cut to 29" with 145 gr. tip making a total wt. of 530 gr.

It is certainly one of the best!

I have 2 BW's, one is MA11 62" 53#@28".

The other (which I just received 2 weeks ago) is PSAX 62" 51#@28". My draw is 29".

I picked up some AD Trad Lites wood grain from someone about a year ago. They came 31", crowned, and fletched. I shoot 125gr and they fly great. I could cut them and shoot more point weight, but as they say, if it ain't broke.

I think they weigh about 490gr.

There is no info at all on their web site. Just a bunch of advertising no info on how to buy or even what they look like. No Thanks I'll stick with my Easton Axis shafts.
