Got a bridle on this mustang
« on: December 28, 2022, 03:46:56 PM »
When I was first attempting to check tiller and rough DW on this bow some months back, it threw the string and went flying across the shop. As is usually the case, the cause was “operator error”. Had some extra time recently so modified the tillering block specifically for this kind of Turkish bow, so there will not be any more fliers in the shop. That done I finished up tillering this bow which has turned out to be a nice shooter in Bubinga @ 52# DW. Just got some quick pix with my phone so some of them look a bit cockeyed.

Thanks gents. I forgot to add a pic of UHMW slick tape on the side of the riser at the arrow pass. This tape is very tough, stays put and really protects the riser at the pass, e.g. after a thousand arrows it shows only minor scuffing, but hasn’t come close to wearing thru. Also I like that it is nearly invisible and doesn’t hide the character of the riser wood.
