Archers chair-hang on seat?
« on: May 10, 2008, 06:13:00 PM »
I'm looking for a little more comfort/convenience for hunting out of natural, brushed in ground blinds. I often like a tree at my back and was wondering if anyone has tried different hang on chairs or the Archer's Chair or the Lil' Sit.
Any comments on ease, noise, etc is great.
I think I'd prefer a hang on, because what I'd like to do is set it kind of high, so I can stand much of the time, then just barely sit on it to take some pressure off my legs, while still mostly standing, then be able to stand when I see a deer, without hardly any movement.

For a private land spot where I can just leave one out all season, this Lil' Sit looks great. Scroll to bottom stand/seat...

If you're looking for a chair and not a hang-on seat you may want to take a look at this thread.

there's some pics on page 4 of the Anywhere Hunting Chair made by 2 tradgangers. You can contact them through the sponser links.  Fred

Yeah they do, but there were several reviews I already found that said if you're over 5'8" 180lbs, it's small. I'm 6'2" 210lbs. I have an older Summit ladder stand and that is my complaint with that stand too. The seat is small and uncomfortable.

Without being able to stand up out of it with approaching deer, that Lil' Sit looks sweet. I may buy one of those to try and just drive it out to one of my better spots on private land in August. I may have no need to stand. And I've heard nothing but great reviews about Woodsey Too Stands. Supposedly no noise with their swivels. And if it works, I can buy 2-3 and just leave them sit all season at some of my better go-to spots that I know I will hunt.

1/4, that looks pretty darn sweet. Looks like it has backpack straps too. Have you tried one? Is it quiet?
Maybe I get a couple Lil' Sits for my spots I know I can leave them and then go portable with the one you listed.
Hmmm...now you got the wheels turning. LOL

Dean Torges' tree seat - cost only a couple bucks to make, and works great!

I second what Fyr said. I made one and its rather nice and comfortable. I would suggest practice sessions with it before season though, so you an tweak it to silence.
