Returning to archery after 2 years off
« on: January 19, 2023, 11:45:24 PM »
Just wanting to say hi.  I starting shooting my longbow again coming off about a 2 yr. break.

I'm starting on blind bale, working on form.  Well, actually the part of form after I reach anchor, and whether I'm going to be snap shooter or hold a second...

I've only ever shot Aluminum, just bought an arrow saw and some carbons, going to bare shaft tune and see how I like carbon.  I'm very comfortable dialing in Aluminum arrows, I suspect I need to learn a lot about carbon thou.  Even a different hot melt, lol.

All my arrows are wood & aluminum.  Mostly just shoot target out back of my house at this point.

For me I just could not justify the expense to make my own carbons. Will stick with my small hacksaw.

Still I would like some carbons. Might buy some precut shafts. Not really sure what weight. I pull about  26". Most of my bows where made to pull 45# at 26". Normally I cut shafts to 27.5" BOP.

Good luck with the carbons.
