Guys I'm sorry for not noticing the price change earlier on page 6 in Ray's post. If I've told you a different price I will stand by it. So from now on as of April 1st  they will be as advertised, 99.95 but I will not worry about the 2.75 for PayPal. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Mike

Great old thread pertaining to the Hunt Anywhere Chair. I placed my order in Dec 2007. Best money I ever spent on hunting gear. Why doesn't someone craft them now?

I love it when these 15 year old threads get resurrected.  Lots of memories in them.  :campfire:

I like the old threads too. People seemed more friendlier back then. Don't even want to think about all the great guys and gals we've lost since then.

I tried several types of chairs and found them bulky to carry around. What I use now when I hunt the ground is a Saddle. I use it just like Saddle hunters do, except without the climbing. I look for a tree that has a couple trees or thick brush between me and where the deer are moving thru. I carry a small hand rake to clear the ground around the base of the tree, clear out a couple shooting lanes if need be, then connect my tether to the tree on the opposite side I expect deer to show up, then clip my saddle to the tether. Takes about 1 minute to set up. Using knee pads I can sit or lean. I usually do 20 to 30 minutes sitting, then switch to leaning for the same. I hang my bow on the tree of course. When I spot a deer I simply lean back with the tree between us and keep it that way as he moves. There is never enough of me showing to really catch their attention. If I want to shoot I'd wait until they were looking away or their eyes are behind a tree or brush. I've had deer 10 to 15 yards from me and look right me and pay no mind. I wear the Saddle in, it weighs about 2 pounds. I was using an H2 slingshot, but just got a CGM Sidewinder and it's so much easier to wear in, it compacts into a 5 inch belt, then pulls out with 2 pleats to a comfy butt hammock. You just can't go lighter or be more mobile.

Neat idea. The lady who owned Greene’s Tree Saddles said she was going to try this method for spring turkeys. Never heard how well it worked cause they went out of business.

I've used a lot of different styles and I have a Nif-T Seat, a Ground Effects and some others whose brand names escape me.  One of my favs is a cushion with a back rest and I think it will strap to a tree.   Wide enough for my behind and enough cushion to keep me from squirming too much, it's pretty comfortable.

The Ground Effects seat is fairly new on the market and my only complaint is that the seat is not quite large enough and it does not have quite enough padding.

Good luck in your search.

I have two of these. They pack really small and light. You can set them up to sit up straight or lounge. You can swivel around the tree if you need to.

An Alps Outdoorz folding seat or an Ascend kayak seat. Both work for me. The kayak seat keeps you off the ground. The Alps seat is best used with a ground cushion in my opinion. Other kayak seats may work but I just use the one from my kayak.😀
Both are under $30 and very portable.

I'm a big fan of using a duck hunting seat. Stab it in the ground and presto your hunting. Lightweight and easy to use. If you adjust the height you can be in a position to stand for a shot easily if you want.

I use something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BHXZ11F?pd_rd_i=B08BHXZ11F&pf_rd_p=b000e0a0-9e93-480f-bf78-a83c8136dfcb&pf_rd_r=ZARPWGPPTES4214KTNKR&pd_rd_wg=Slyty&pd_rd_w=pQ6bC&pd_rd_r=2a44ca67-89a8-4046-8d0d-9ff63ffc143b&th=1

The one I bought is not available any more, but there's similar ones on the site, like the one in the link, which I'm posting just to give the idea. I love it. The only thing, make sure it's on flat ground and you're sitting in the center, or it will go in pieces (which you can assemble back with some patience... 🙄 )

Best,
Max

I'll have to take a picture of my shabby seat ;^)))
I got this pic off line. It's a coleman .  Noisy , seat is bright....but it is light and not bad to set on. Good height .

I modified mine on the cheap.....Camo spray paint the fabric.....and wrapped  the metal legs with ....sliced  length wise  old bicycle inner tubes ;^)))  Then made 2 shoulder straps , and added two small bungees to hold it tightly collapsed/folded . I can carry my Alpha quiver nicely attached (and fully accessible)with bungee as well. Super light and easy to carry like mentioned above.

My old swivel stool is comfy , but heavy and awkward to carry.

" Necessity is the mother of all invention" ;^)

My dream seat is a Waldrop pack seat......One of these days !

OK...found a few pics of my mod.  Coleman "shabby"  :biglaugh:

This was an "OLD ONE" my brother gave me yrs ago that was fastened folded in the bed of my old truck . Emergency seat in a jiff ;^)) So it was handy for experimentation ....

This one had "bright green" fabric....Little noisy but usable . I would like to change-out the fabric at some point , but it works & the price is right ......desert tan base , then other flat earth-tones to blend. The old inner-tube leg wrapps work excellent & made it very silent while portag'ing  :biglaugh:

Vry silent in usage , and pretty comfy.  I like the fact that my quiver/arrows are accessible while traveling to and fro......Good little setup on the cheap with a little work.   I can/will make a few improvements over the off season for sure.     Just under 4# counting bungee & shoulder straps - minus quiver & arrows ;^). .......options :campfire:

sincerely,

These are the ones I like. They are small and don't have the arm rest.  They are easy to pack in and out,and they are comfortable. I have a different one from Cabela's,but basiclly the same as this one.

Guilty of not reading the entire thread before posting  :knothead: :biglaugh:

Looks like okkeith and myself do/did about the same with simular seats ...
The seat is very compact as modified . Making it a  packable seat that I could attach me quiver to ....
The rubber inner tube wrapping of the legs/frame quiets this sytem to huntworth status on the cheap.
Bungee locks it all together and keeps the arrows/quiver accessible .Adding two shoulder straps is pretty easyas well.

 Hope it helps someone......... :campfire:
