Boy, a good hunting story never gets old.
Great inspiration for me as this fall will be my first try at the Bear bait. Hangin' tough seems to be the order of the day.
Thanks for sharing AND bringing it back up.

This may have been asked but did you mount the bear or have a rug made? If so, pics would be nice.

Great hunting journey!!

That was an intriguing story!  Thank you for sharing.  I'm glad that I found it's current posting on the Pow Wow.

I'm sure we all wish we could do something similar.

Thanks again for the great read.

I hadn't been logging on to Tradgang very long when this story was first posted. I remember thinking, "man that guy knows what it means to stick with something and finish it". Congrats, you must have true grit !

I have to say thanks again everyone! I just re read the whole story and it was like I was there again. I can't believe it's been 5 years. My surprise baby is now 4 and wants to shoot a deer and elk and bear with her bow! Awesome! As far as a mount, unfortunately it's still at the taxidermist. Hopefully if this economy will turn around it will come home. As for now the skull and memories are enough reminders of one of the best hunts of my life!!

Not sure how I missed this but that is one AWESOME story of a great adventure.  With a story like that you have to make some kind of deal with that taxidermist!!!    After all that you need that bear as an example of hard work and Perseverance!!

Thanks for taking us along!!
