New Morrison foam cores.
« on: May 12, 2008, 02:18:00 PM »
Well back in Feb. I received my new Morrison Shawnee . I showed it to you all but couldn't shoot it cause of elbow surgery. Well after hearing about the foam core limbs on here I asked Bob to make me a set. Problem was, Bacote isn't easy to match up to. Bob dug deep into his contacts and eventually found me some veneers for my limbs. I received this work of art 2-weeks ago. The hype is right, these limbs are awesome! Smooth, quiet, and plenty fast. I stopped shooting in time to give you all a peek. Here they are. The bow is a Morrison Shawnee 54#@27" A-riser with D- foam core limbs. The riser is Bacote with macassar ebony flare. The limbs are foam core with Bacote veneers. Thanks Bob, they were worth the wait!

Beautiful bow, although I don't expect your title to withstand the test of time.

Your right pdk25, if I don't slow down shooting then I'll need a new set in a year.

I'm test driving one this week and will go with the same limb set-up (if I can hide them from my wife).  Boy,  I did not need to see that. Very, very nice.
Let's go to the woods and learn things about life (Penelope, age 4, to me).

Really nice match! I just ordered a set of very light, 40#@29" arapaho limbs with foam cores and got lucky with matching Olivewood caps that Bob said he still had some stock of when he made my Olivewood riser last year. Hope they look as good as yours against the riser. It is also nice to see that the turnaround is way faster than 6 months as stated on the site. My last limbs, some Dakotas before foam core, were a long anxious wait and well worth it.
