Hawaii for Work.... and Play
« on: May 13, 2008, 04:11:00 PM »
Hey Guys, I want to thank many of you for helping me on a last minute request for some info on hunting Hawaii.  I went to Honolulu for a week of work and while there decided to take some time off and enjoy the sun.

I have been working in the UK for the past three years and havent bowhunted since I left the US in March of 05.  So at the last minute, 5 days prior to my departure, I started a quest to try and hunt the island of Oahu.  Wouldnt ya know, we have a couple of Trad Gang members on the island and thanks to Shell i started corresponding with Islandlongbow (Jerry).

To make a long story short, I hooked up with Jerry and did a few evenings of Boar hunting.  What a great time we had.  Didnt see much or harvest anything but it was one of the most memorable hunts I have had, heck its the only bowhunt I have had in three years.  Hunted with Jerry, His buddy Donny, and Jerry's son.

Jerrys family was amazing!  I have made new friends for life.

The follwoing are a few pictures from the trip:

Me on the North Shore Hunting Boar.  You are looking into the mountains.  Behind the camera is the North Shore.

A Boar rub.....Yep, thats a telephone pole.

Jerry and a stand of Guava...theres a lot of Manny bows in dem woods !

What would a trip be to Hawaii without a little try for Bonefish...Hickam Flats.

I am a Patriot... I could not leave without visiting the Arizona Memorial.

Jack, You surely met some of my most favorite people in the world...
One of these days I will get out to see my sister pea in a pod and her wonderful hubby Jerry and their handsome young lad, Adam.

Thank you for the pics and taking us along...I am so lonesome for that place.

Did Jerry sing any Buffet for you?    ;)

Hey Doug, Thanks for the reminder.  I couldn't remember that it was a power pole.  Maybe next time we should meet up out there to harass Jerry.  I think I follwed in your tracks.  I enjoyed hearing your stories from Jerry.

I'll tell Annie to put a bow on your mailbox.  :wavey:

Jack give me a shout when you get home. We will have to get together and do some shooting and lie swapping.
