Stalker Vortex
« on: May 22, 2023, 10:57:54 PM »
I just placed an order for a Stalker Vortex with longbow limbs. I'm hoping to have it before the upcoming elk season. I've had a Stalker Coyote in the past and the quality and woodsmanship was amazing.

Anybody shoot the Vortex and what are your opinions on it? Pictures of your setup would be appreciated as well. I'm excited to try it out! I will have either the low Jaeger or six pack grip placed.

Thanks

I had a Vortex custom built in 2021. Beautiful bow and a great shooter. I just couldn't get adjusted to the grip. I liked it well enough otherwise that I'd probably try one again with a different grip. It was also a little heavier than I prefer. South is a great guy to work with.

Hey Jason how's it been going?  I forgot his name, but the guy who writes for Traditional Bowhunter has one. He seems to do well with it. I had thought about it also with the longbow limbs.

You stepping out on your Whip?  :biglaugh:

Pretty awesome bows.  I got to shoot one at an event once and it's on my list.

Rick! What's up!

Haha, well I did have a Toelke bow in the works but that fell through so I had to decide on something else. I've had a Stalker Coyote before, I think I actually shot it at your house, but I've always loved the woodsmanship of South's bows.

I was going to get a Vortex but I switched it to a Jackal with the ACS longbow limbs....that's a very interesting limb design and apparently quite light and fast so I think I'm going to try that one.

I appreciate everyone's replies. Thank you

You did shoot it at my house, and you let me shoot it. That was a really nice bow,and one of the few recurves I think I could have got used to.

That was considered a static tip wasn't it? I liked how it felt when you pulled it back. I think he makes those type of limbs for the vortex. I never understood the Coyote vs. the Wolverine. I think you could use the riser interchangeably on one of those.
