Sherwood Traditional Archery Rendezvous 2023

For the past 17 years the S.T.A.R. shoot, or Sherwood Traditional Archery Rendezvous has been held at Sherwood Archers in Roanoke, Va. We get a good turnout of archers from Va., Pa., W.Va., NC, etc. I know a lot of you guys have been to our shoot in the past. We strive to put on a good shoot for all of our shooters and make sure everyone has fun. We are also hosting a Professional Bowhunters Society Odd Year Gathering this same weekend this year, so it should make for a fun shoot with several raffles and door prizes available. It is scheduled for June 3 & 4, 2023 so you guys can put it on your calendars.

Wonderful news Randy-great shoot put on by wonderful people. Bring boots for the 3d as some of the course is fairly steep. Fun weekend for sure. Will be there for sure.

Pretty area for sure, had buiz at Rocky Mount years ago.  One restaurant, one motel, 3 channels and not even a movie theater.  I would have been board out of my mind if I hadn't have taken my bow. I found a nice church on a country road I went behind and shot every day.

For those of you that have asked, yes, the kitchen will be open both days and we will be serving breakfast in the mornings.  This year breakfast will be all you can eat pancakes and sausages.

Just a little over a week away now and things are starting to come together out there. We are getting some nice donations for the bucket raffle for the P.B.S. Odd Year Gathering and will be having a couple seminars on Saturday afternoon.

A Big Thank You to Randy Brookshire and Duane Means and the rest of the Sherwood archery crew for a great effort.  This was a great shoot with a great turnout.  Fun course layout and a demanding toughman shoot.  Great to catch up with old friends and make new.  Jeff

Just wanted to add my thanks for another great STAR shoot. Evem though I was only there 1 day it was enjoyable to have my friends who had not been before have a good time shooting at the club. Thanks again for all the hard work. Duane-forgive my mouth on the toughman-just not myself.
