I know I've put this picture up before, but it's of Doug Chase looking at a STOS that he single beveled with a tanto tip.  I think he got them without any grind to start with.  This part of the arrow was sticking out the far side of an Oz buff, out of a 70# DAS.  Both of his buff had the arrow sticking out the far side, and they did go through some ribs.

So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.
