Removing weight tubes?
« on: May 14, 2008, 05:32:00 PM »
I have some Beman MFX Classics with some 3gpi weight tubes installed. Question, I would like to remove the weight tubes, they will not come out by just removing the nock and shaking, tapping it etc.  Any advice on how to remove the tubes without damaging the finished arrows?

Thanks for your help

As long as they are not glued in, take a fish hook (at least catfish sized hook) bend it straight, pull the nock and then pull the tube by grabbing it with the barb on the hook.

I just use a screw and just stick it down in there and hold pressure to the inside of the tube and pull it out.

The method that works the fastest, use the tang end of a small chainsaw file. Don't use much pressure. I can change tubes out in a few minutes.
