Stunning Stone Points
« on: February 16, 2007, 08:23:00 AM »
Knife River is around here a lot, and we've corresponded back and forth before, but somehow I never got around to going on to his website until yesterday.  Man, was I missing out!

If you want to see some of the most beautiful rock ever knapped you have got to check this out.

Yeah!... I find myself going to his site every once in awhile just to look at his work.

You should see them in person. Woody is a super guy and his work is flawless. Never much cared about owning stone heads until I saw his works of art.

Woody definately has a rare gift from God...not only an unbelievably talented artist but as fine a camp mate as anyone could ask for. Proud to call him friend and look forward to more hunts with him soon.

Most awesome artwork!!

There is much talent, skill, and a tremendous eye for form and function displayed on those pages.  Thank you Mr. Blackwell!

And thanks to Whip for for bringing it to our attention.

I'm here to tell you that I could never say enough about Woody, his skill, his generousity, and finally about what a pleasure he is to shoot with and chew the fat with. One of the most unpretentious and modest men I've ever met, especially to have so much know-how and talent.

Absolute best part (IMO) - he also has a good sense of humor.

I don't think the phrase 'Stunning Simplicity' has ever been better used. To think that folks've been doing this since...well....there've been folks, is truly astonishing. It's probably the only time, in any of our lives that we'll get to see a technological advancement such as this, brought to the pinnacle of it's form & possibilities. I'd have to say that these are examples of perfection in a particular medium.

It makes the ancestors proud. Woody, you have been blessed with a wonderful gift. I have found arrowheads all over the world. It has always amazed me how primitive peoples could make such useful works of art. And now you have brought the talent to new heights.
