Thunk sound
«

I picked up a Black Widow TF a few months back and I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting a thunk sound when I shoot the bow, only time I'm not getting it is when I go way up in size with wood arrows. Bow is 56@28. Happens even when I'm using aluminum shafts, also feel like there is vibration on the limbs as well. Never had a bow feel this way.

I had a bow like that once. I couldn't figure it out. I went down in spine, I went up in weight. I even incorporated the help of the bowyer. The only thing I didn't think of was the string. Nock tightness, type of material, etc.

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like. And I like Primal Tech bows.

Most of the time, the thunk is arrow hitting the bow... meaning too stiff. Wood arrows wouldn't make as much noise generally when doing this.

Wood arrows are also not hollow so the don't resonate sound like a carbon or aluminum arrow. Plus my experience is the generally have a looser nock fit on my bowstrings.

Thank you both, I was a bit high on the spine, switched over to a lower spined wood arrow and no more thunk !!! I love the bow but it has to be the pickiest bow when it comes to finding a right arrow for it.
