Sierra Blanca RMR and Wes Wallace Stealth
« on: September 08, 2023, 06:42:00 PM »
I am wanting to order a new takedown recurve and 2 that really catch my eye are the Sierra Blanca RMR and the Wes Wallace Stealth.  I owned a Brackenbury Drifter and Phantom back in the day and really loved both bows.  Always wanted to try a RMR back in the day but never did.  I know how much I liked my Drifter so a Wes Wallace Stealth in walnut really sounds appealing.  Wonder who has owned or shot either one these bows from these two bowyers.  I would order a 60 inch bow from Wes and probably a 58 inch from Jess.  I like that both bows don't break the bank.

I own a Sierra Blanca RMR. I love it. Smooth and beautiful bow. Mine is 43 pounds and 28 inches. I haven't hunted with it yet, but it is a fine shooting bow. Jess does an awesome job and is great to deal with. Highly recommend.

A couple of my friends this past year have gotten Wes Wallace recurves. One guy got 2 one of which is model you’re looking at. He wanted a one piece bow that would not break the bank and if it got scratched up while Elk hunting it wouldn’t hurt him. I shot it and I found it to be a bow I would consider. It draws smooth and doesn’t stack. The grip felt fine and the grip makes or breaks a bow for me

Like you, the grip is the make or break for me.  My Black Hunter grip feels as good as any and I shoot it accurately.

Well a Jess Stuart Sierra Blanca Rocky Mountain Recurve is on order. Should have her in Jan. or Feb. Bolivian Rosewood and Jatoba Riser with brown glass limbs 37 @ 28 inches. 17 inch riser making a 58 inch bow. Always liked brown glass back in the day and have not had a bow with simple brown glass in over 30 years. Jess is going to send a D97 and B55 string. Can't wait to get her.
