Bear takedown longbow limbs

Anyone have any knowledge of how the new longbow limbs from Bear perform? I know the old ones had poor reviews…just wondering if they addressed the concerns with the new ones. I am a recurve guy but definitely interested in these.

Now I'm gonna have to look them up, just because.

Sounds like they’ll be 62” on a B riser and a R/D design. Available sometime in early 2024. A pic of the originals, which were 70” on a B riser next to a set of the new design.

I would love to see Kirk Lavender (Bigfoot Bows) chime in on this topic. He makes custom R/D longbow limbs for the Bear TD riser and I have heard that his are excellent. I wonder how much he can tell about the new Bear versions just by looking at them.

Just being a R/D design will help performance. How much remains to be seen. Like the original ones a novelty.

Looks to me in the pics that they have slight deflex and moderate reflex.I think the slight deflex will work well on the Bear riser vs a limb with alot of deflex. They do string up into a D shape it looks like to me from the pics I have seen. The reflex should give them some pre-load and little zip to the arrow.
I would prefer overall and its being picky that they made a 60 inch bow on the A and 64 inches on the B riser.
I would definatly like to try a set out sometime!

What I missed when I hunted w longbows was being able to slide under sticks w the limb tip and flicking them out of the way while stalking.

Thanks to Yellow Dog for the picture! Not sure how you came up with that but seems clear the new ones are a better design. Now I want a set even more.
