« on: May 17, 2008, 05:23:00 PM »
I am going to visit some realtives next year in Utah, Salt Lake area. I have not pinned down the exact dates. Does anyone know if  there are any small game that I could hunt cheaply. Cant quite afford the big stuff yet. Thanks for any help.

I lived in SLC for about five years. West of Salt Lake there are quite a few bunnies to be had.  If you are there in the summer, find a boat and go out on Utah Lake for some bowfishing.  There are some serious carp out there.  That is about all there is within short drive of SLC, as far as I can remember. Anyone else?

That's about it, with a few grouse on the Wasatch. You have to work for those.

Contact one of us Utah guys when you have the dates nailed down and we can help you with what seasons are open and what might be good options.  You could always head west of SLC to BLM ground and try to call coyotes.
