THE ALABAMA SOCIETY OF TRADITIONAL BOWMEN (ASTB) AUCTION FOR CHILDREN’S Of
ALABAMA HOSPITAL WILL BE HELD AT 5:00 PM ON SATURDAY APRIL 13 AT OUR SHOOT AT
BRIARFIELD IRONWORKS PARKS NEAR MONTEVALLOW, ALABAMA.
WE WILL BE ACCEPTING TEXT AND EMAIL BIDS FOR TWO OF THE ITEMS FOR THOSE WHO
CANNOT ATTEND IN PERSON.
ITEM ONE – NORTHERN MIST BARAGA LONGBOW DONATED BY STEVE TURAY (contact Steve with

ITEM TWO – 2 ½ DAY BOW HUNT IN SOUTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY ALABAMA with Steve Turay –
flexible dates from October 15, 2024 through January 31, 2025. 650 acres private land, two
hunters, limit of a buck or a doe for each. Includes meals, fellowship, and lodging. Contact

THE PROCESS WILL WORK AS FOLLOWS:
1. GIVE YOUR MAXIMUM BID AMOUNT FOR YOUR SELECTED ITEM BY TEXT OR PHONE

WE WILL ACCEPT THESE BIDS FROM NOW UNTIL 12:00 CENTRAL TIME ON SATURDAY,
APRIL 6.
2. YOUR MAXIMUM BID AMOUNT WILL BE KEPT COMPLETELY CONFIDENTIONAL. WHEN
THE LIVE BIDDING STARTS, WE WILL BID ON YOUR BEHALF IN $25 INCREMENTS.
FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOUR MAXIMUM BID FOR THE BOW IS $1,000 BUT THE HIGHEST BID
IS $800, WE WILL ENTER A BID ON YOUR BEHALF OF $825.
3. IF YOU SUBMIT A BID WE WILL IMMEDIATELY CONFIRM THAT WE RECEIVED IT.
PLEASE CALL IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE CONFIRMATION. WE WILL CONTACT YOU
IMMEDIATELY IF YOU WIN ON OF THE ITEMS. PAYMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED
THROUGH EITHER VENMO OR PAYPAL.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO CHILDREN’S OF ALABAMA. LAST YEAR WE RAISED OVER $7,000.  We hope to exceed that this year.

Steve will make the Northern Mist bows to the winner’s specs.   On the hunt-we will include the third night’s lodging in case the winner is traveling far.

The lead time on ordering a Northern Mist bow is close to two years.   Getting one in this auction gets you one in a few months.

I said two nights on the hunt but the winner can stay the third night after the final afternoon.   The Alabama rut in our area is in late January. The season opens on October 15th but does cannot be shot the first 10 days of the season.

A guy asked what if he wanted to come by himself.   We decided that in that case it would be a five day hunt and double the limit.

On the bow, steve says it will be winner’s choice of model and built to his specs within a month of winning.   Two years less than his normal wait time.
