Mike,
What a really Great picture of your Mom holding that set of antlers and it’s a precious picture to always hold on to.
I remember one year when I got a 10 pointer and how my Mom was excited for me as they took a video with those Big Video cameras in her car following behind my truck while she and my grandmother when in her little Ford Escort .
My Mom was just a talking to my grandmother about a 9 point one of my oldest brothers killed in 1972 and how my oldest departed brother at the time told her to get some old sheets cause he didn’t want blood all in the back of Dads  1969 blue F-100 pickup as he hurried into the house all excited about my other brothers Rick 9 point .
That brother was named Mike as well.
Anyway my brother Mike ,my Mom, and grandmother All have passed away and I’ll join them one glorious day but I cherish those moments when you can watch an old video or look at an old picture and that day is played back in your mind and you would do anything to be able to go back to that moment of time.
Your Mom looks very ,very proud of her son accomplishments and it’s written with her smile and holding that deer rack .
She knows how much deer hunting means to her son and how much it’s in his heart and hers as well.
You have a wonderful Mother Mike I can see it in the picture and May you cherish each moment telling her of your days adventure out in the Great outdoors .
Again congratulations on the Buck and for having a great Mom .
     Gos Bless,
   Keefers <‘)))><

Keefers, You are so right. My dad passed away last January, but mom is doing well. She is 90 years old and is still active. She is always happy when we get a deer, and especially when it's a buck we have been after. When my book "One with the Wilderness" came out, mom was so proud of me and told many of her church friends about it. Older women would come up to me and say, "They never dreamed of reading a book about bowhunting and enjoying it so much." Last summer we were up in Wisconsin, and mom went missing. We found her out fishing in a canoe down river alone. I always thought my solo hunting came from my father who was an only child, while mom had 7 siblings. But as I get old, I realize are adventurous spirit comes from mother. HaHaHa. Peace to you and your family, Mike

Mike ,
I would have to say that your “One with the Wilderness”   inspired your Mom to go out fishing in her canoe alone.
That is one story you must put in your next book lol.
Never too old to enjoy the great outdoors and so happy you found your Mom doing what you love as well.
I’m just surprised All those Church lady friends didn’t  all go with her that also read your book lol.

I took the October buck with a 59# at my draw Homage Bow from Brandon Stahl, but after falling and shoulder injury, I used a 54# Wessel Archery on the January buck.
