I like the idea of not having to fold up the rear leg for leaning. That’s the main reason I wanted to get rid of that strap and buckle. You should try the daisy chain rope. Easy to adjust from the front , and no buckle.
So , what affects did cutting the folding leg off have on height and lean angle?
I like that you don’t have to fold it up.

As far ad the adjustment goes, I made the length of the strap as long as I will ever foresee having the leg in its outback position..and then just position as needed, leaving the strap for rearward limit. Works beautifully! The leg 2-1\2" shorter did not make anything less adjustable.. Just that I don't have to buckle flip or fold the leg for any leaning..and for leg use, just fold it out to desired angle..Thats it..Silent, simple, fast, those pins and buckles bugged me every time I wanted a quick sit while still hunting..

I know this is an older thread but what I did was buy wide bottom cane bottoms on Amazon and I don’t have to fold the back bar up leaning against a tree. I didn’t want to cut my leg length so the crossmember is high enough to fit over large roots sticking up out of the ground, a problem I had with other seats.

Have not been out hunting yet due to hot weather and cataract surgery. It I’m always trying to think ahead to make it a better experience! I mounted a cat quiver lll on my Waldrop seat. Took a bit thinking but I think I got it.  Now just grab the seat and my bow and off we go !

Great idea  :clapper:
