Crappy childhood and St Judes Please read
« on: May 20, 2008, 08:33:00 AM »
I had a crappy childhood. I won't bore you with the depressing details. Lets just say, divorce, foster home, wicked step mother, a real mother that wasn't worth much and alcoholism. I had no faith in adults, in fact I hated them all, but there was no Tradgang. I'm not sure if we realize just how important we are here. I love this group. The things that we do for kids here is saintly. Let's really make a difference in the world. Let's kick some butt in the St. Judes's Auction!!!
Brian

FYI: If each member donated just $5, we would raise $81,940 !

Brian -- My young suffering can't compare to yours, with no want for a good meal or parental abuse, etc., on my end. But in effect I had no father, beginning to end. In this order, my life was saved: archery (no mentors, just instinct), the Marine Corps, open-minded self-education, Caroline my bride of 27 years, Ed Abbey, Paul Shepard ... and always and most, time alone in the wild, being "as good an animal" as I could and can be. Hundreds of scientific studies now prove the obvious: children who have some quality time in Real Wild (as opposed, say, to visiting a petting zoo or watching nature TV) have far better lives in every measure compared to those who don't. Thus, for the future of both true traditional hunting, and humanity as we were designed to be, we all should be "environmentalists." Bravo to you, to TG, and St. Judes! Dave

That is a sobering way of putting in perspective our goal.  I sure do love to give and look forward to seeing how much tradgangers come up with.  And you are right, this is a special place.  5 bucks each!  Give up that lunch or mocha latte for one day!

Helping others who need the help, that's what it's all about. Thanks for that reminder Horatio!

Five bucks guys, only $5.00 each and we raise $81,940.00....add that to what the auction raises, and think about the good it will do.  Yes right now it will buy a little more than a gallon of gas, but all of our #5.00's added together will be a significant amount of money for the children,.... and we won't miss it.
God tells us that this is the one area "giving"  where we are free to challenge Him.
The gospel according to St. Luke  6:38  :
"Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."  Come on guys and gals get behind this it is a no lose proposition!
