Brian -- My young suffering can't compare to yours, with no want for a good meal or parental abuse, etc., on my end. But in effect I had no father, beginning to end. In this order, my life was saved: archery (no mentors, just instinct), the Marine Corps, open-minded self-education, Caroline my bride of 27 years, Ed Abbey, Paul Shepard ... and always and most, time alone in the wild, being "as good an animal" as I could and can be. Hundreds of scientific studies now prove the obvious: children who have some quality time in Real Wild (as opposed, say, to visiting a petting zoo or watching nature TV) have far better lives in every measure compared to those who don't. Thus, for the future of both true traditional hunting, and humanity as we were designed to be, we all should be "environmentalists." Bravo to you, to TG, and St. Judes! Dave
