3 D targets
« on: August 07, 2024, 07:10:39 AM »
Each time I see a question about 3D targets my mind instantly goes toward how great they were and how bad they are now. The body’s are too thin, backs break, legs are PLASTIC, that one as you can tell burns me.
Real Wild/Bigshot targets are the exception. Yea they may be a little more but if they last longer, lots actually, look like a deer (rhinehardt idk who sculpted them but the guy needs more attn to basic anatomy). I never hear anyone talk of RW/Bigshot but you may want to look into them fellas.

I second the Big Shot targets.
I help run a 3-D course (since 1990) and have seen the quality deteriorate over the years.
The body foam has gotten softer, less of it, and the vitals don't last as long.
The prices have skyrocketed and quality declines.

To add to this, hopefully more as a "heads up" than a chance to bit-h: I recently bought a new Glendel 3D deer to replace a very old one that I finally got tired of repairing. It came in a pristine factory sealed box and was clearly a SECOND at best although I certainly did pay the price tag for a "first".  It had a number of quality issues from surface divots to a cavity in the neck where there clearly had been an air bubble, to raggedy edges on the central replaceable block.  I wrote a detailed complaint to the company... and got exactly NO reply.  Who knows if it will hold up.  I have reached the point that home made targets are looking pretty good going forward
