Bark Cover for Treestand Hunting
« on: November 15, 2024, 01:25:01 PM »
Looking for to purchase a simple silent piece of fabric, no padding, that can be strapped to the trunk of the tree to lean against when sitting in my tree stands. Its purpose is to do away with the Velcro like sound when fleece clothing is pulled away from the bark.
I know I’ve seen this item before, but after an extensive search I cannot turn it up anywhere. And, yes, I know I could make my own, but I’m not interested in going the DIY route.
Thanks in advance.

Stealth strips work great for silencing pretty much anything you need to bring into the woods hunting. I have them on my treestand and sticks and they have been awesome. Extremely durable and made by a great guy in Michigan. Their bark silencer sounds like exactly what you are looking for.

Many thanks. I’ve sent them an email for clarification on how it attaches. Again, thanks.

I know that you don't want to DYI it, but just go to JoAnn, Michaels, or even Walmart and buy a few yards of camo fabric.  Take 2 bungee cords and use them to secure the fabric around the tree.

@Al Dente and @Jegs.mich
Thanks for the suggestions. I had forgotten that years ago I used a long sleeved t-shirt for just this purpose. Not sure why I quit doing so.

That’s a pretty slick idea imo. And can be used as emergency TP if you have to much coffee that morning  :goldtooth: :coffee:

I learned of the T Shirt on the tree from one of the Wensels books.

This is most likely where it came from. I had a good friend tell me to use a shirt 25 years ago, it wouldn't surprise me if it came from Gene or Barry a lot of good information has.

Just get a piece of fabric then cut it so it looks like a 12" x 20" rectangle square bodied spider with 4 30" legs,,, put on tree 20" is vertical and i bring the upper and lower legs around to front and tie them together,,,, this also doubles as emergency toilet paper or a blood rag  :bigsmyl:
