Carrying a Bison Gear pack along with a Waldrop pac seat
« on: December 08, 2024, 08:40:01 AM »
Looking for a way to effectively carry my Bison gear pack combined with my Waldrop Pacseat. I was hoping to reverse the waist and backpack straps to the other side and have the seat folded down and put the pack on the seat and strap the pack to the chair, but had no luck.
Is there anyone using the same combination that could please give me some pointers on how you do it. In the past, I put on my chair first then made the straps on the pack so long that I could half heartily wear it over the chair, but honestly, it wasn’t that comfortable.

I apologize for the sideways pictures, I’m not sure why they do that when I post  :help:

I have a carabiner tied on the folding frame and hook my Avery messenger bag on it by the hand grip and a cloth bungee holds it tight. I also hang my Ghillie on the carabiner also. Very quick and easily done in the dark.

I recently watched a video about the pacseat, where the back swings up ( which mine does) and the seat folds through to the other side, so one can use it as a pac seat. Mine does not do that. I had heard that the new owners upgraded some stuff on the seat, so it’s possible that mine is the older design and it’s not capable of that .

I have a Kifaru Hellcat--not too unlike a Bison Gear pack with shoulder harness straps.  Got my Waldrop seat well into the season and will not really use it until Spring Turkey or next fall, maybe some fishing in the summer.  Anyways,  my plan is to remove the seat shoulder straps and belt and use some extra webbing straps and buckles that I already have and attach the seat to the back of the existing harness system.  Will likely need some straps, cord, or bungee to stabilize the bottom area of the seat to the pack.  The pack will stick out behind the pouch a little bit but should be secured solid while on the move.  Get to hunting spot--unbuckle seat--get set up.  I'd rather have my pack at hand to reach items I might want with minimal movement than having to reach around to the back of the seat to feel around for wanted items.   Perhaps when I have everything set up I'll remember to take a photo and post for people to see.  Not in a position to do that for sometime time though.
