Toelke Pika

So I was looking into buying a Toelke Pika for my 1st custom bow. I’m currently shooting a Hoyt Satori knockoff at 60”. Was wondering if anyone has had issues with going to a short bow like that from a longer one. I’ve been told it may not be as stable but not sure if that’s the case? Any opinions or advise is welcome!!!!

A lot will depend on your draw length. It's offered in a 54" or 56" version, with the 56 maxing out at 30.5" DL. My DL is 28.5" and I'm shooting the 54, super smooth draw without stacking. As to transitioning from a longer bow, that's hard to say but I don't have any problems with it. I have longbows and recurves ranging from 52" to 64" and I shoot the Pika as well as any of them. My Toelke Whip is 10" longer than my Pika and I can shoot the same size groups with either. My Pika is a takedown for hunting and actually weighs more than my wood riser Whip. I would recommend the takedown for the convenience and added weight of the bow bolt/micarta riser, it makes a difference in my book.
The Toelke Pika is a truly exceptional short R/D longbow. One of the favorites in my collection.

I draw 29 and I shoot my 56 inch with no issues.  It is becoming my favorite hunting bow.

Do yourself a huge favor .......  call Dan and talk with him. You'll be glad you did.   Great guy and happy to answer your questions.
I have 2 Whistlers and those experiences from the initial phone calls to Dan to dragging critters outa the woods with those bows has been nothing but happiness  :bigsmyl:   Excellent bows,  excellent guy Dan.

My Pika is my favorite bow to date. I find it to be very stable, I shoot it as good as a 60” bow
Toelke Pika t/d 54" 52#
Bear Polar 56” 40#
Black Hunter 60" 40#
Toelke Chinook 58" 54#
