Is it OK to love aluminum and carbon?

Recently aluminum has been getting a lot of love.  In fact, I recently jumped into one of those aluminum love threads, stating how 2016s just seem to fly from everything I shoot.  And it's true.  If I had to pick one arrow to shoot the rest of my life, it would probably be a 2016.  Fortunately, that's not a choice I have to make.  I love to tinker and recently got the itch to try a fancy build, so threw together a few of these Easton Axis 500s, 50 Grain brass inserts and 1916 footers.  Maybe I got lucky with the tune to the Stalker Coyote, but man do they fly.  I don't own a chronograph or decibel meter, but they seem to shoot faster and quieter than the 2016s.  Anyway, it was fun building these and I'll shoot them for a bit while my 2016s get some much deserved rest.  Maybe I'll even gut lucky enough to fling one at a critter over the last few weeks of our season here in NJ.  Anyone else shoot carbon and aluminum and like them both?

I do for sure. I take a bow out and get carbon worked up and the right aluminum. Like you said some bows at least mine prefer one or the other.

It doesn't matter whatever works for you. There isn't many purists anymore.

I've been a woodies only shooter for over 30 years. In the last several years I've been experimenting with aluminum and carbon, and really liking the results. I'll always shoot wood, but from now on aluminium and carbon will also be in my arsenal.

Three custom bows ago I started to make one dozen woods, one dozen aluminums, and one dozen carbons for each bow. That’s minimum. All can be used for hunting, 3D, or target shooting. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of indoor shooting, yes, old age is keeping me close to home more, and aluminums I find are easier to use.

I shot wood for 20 years and I hate to admit it but they never shot as well as the aluminums I am currently shooting. I shot carbon for a while and it was the same with them.

If EHK only knew. I fell into the hole years ago.  Oh my, shed full of dz's of arrows.  Addictions to custom bows which all love different arrows. Have a dozen shafts right in front of me begging for some fletching glued on them. For a couple of brand new bows, I really did not need but the "want" was much too overwhelming.
