For deer size stuff, I will just loud up the same pack I came in with.
 

An aluminum frame is way more stable.
 

For real heavy loads the Alaskan freighter is as good as it gets.

However @ 120-150lbs it all drives you into the ground. LOL

We used the frame pack from Gander Mountain for carrying our stuff into spike camp. They were surprisingly comfortable. Guestimating 50-60 pounds each.

i bought a bull-pac about 13/15 years ago. a year later both my partners followed suit. all three have averaged two/three elk a year since. i haven't used any of the other high end units but have been around plenty of mid end like cabela's. the comfort is what makes the bull-pac stick out. as far as durability we still have two old rei aluminum frames from the 70's that sit around for back-up but when the work starts we all grab or bull-pacs. good hunting.
