noob question

I have a 55# @ 28" longbow. I draw maybe 26 inches. The manufacturer recomends a brace height of 7 1/4. I am shooting some wood arrows that are 50-55#, and some 1916 aluminum arrows. I have been playing with the brace hight and it seems that these arrows fly better with a lower brace hight of 6 1/4. So my question is am I shooting the wrong arrows? Does it hurt the bow to have a lower brace hight than recomended? When I shoot it a 7 - 7 1/4 the arrows "wobble" on the way to the target at closer to 6 they fly much straighter.

Probably the arrows are too stiff at 7-71/4. At 6" the brace height is lower and will help you shoot a stiffer arrow.

Jason,
Try a heavier point on the arrows and go back to the 7" brace. 6 1/4 is too low. Is it smacking you in the wrist?

Have not had a problem with wrist slap unless I get tired and lazy. I am just a perfectionist and hate to see any wobble down range. Might be release issue as well as some seem to fly great and others wobble alot.

First, try using recommended brace height. Next, you say some wobble and some don't. That sounds like a form issue. Sounds like you are shooting about 49#. Don't know your arrow length or tip weight. There are many variables in play here. Maybe try a 2016, or 2018. Good luck.
