I need help arrow tuning!

First, a Happy Father's Day to all. MAy you all enjoy the love bestowed upon you by your loved ones.

Now, tuning touble.  I'm trying to tune arrows to match  my 50# longbow. I have some Legacy 2016's cut to 31" and I can get them flying pretty good with 125 or 145gr. fieldpoints. I think 145's are more consistent tho. I only have 1/2 doz of these tho. This all gives me an arrow weight of about 555gr totoal. I'm pretty happy with that.

Trouble starts when I try to tune the Beman 500's I have. I tried bareshafting at 29.75" with 100 gr. inserts cuz I'm trying to keep my weight up and trying 125 all the way to 200 gr. points, and none of them seem to fly very well. Also the carbons seem to be whacking the arrow shelf hard when they leave the bow.
Funny that when I checked the target they only seem to be showing slightly weak spine(nock left). I tried 100gr points and they were no better. MAybe I should start trimming one of these carbons abit to see if I can stiffen the spine??? I may put them up for sale and stick with the Legacy's anyway.

Any suggestions would likely save me alot of aggravation too!

"Whacking" the shelf how?  What is your draw length? Have you adjusted your nock point height?
i shoot the Legacy 2016's & the Beeman 500 with the same weight you do. i draw right at 27 inches and pull about 49lbs at that length.  i have mine cut at 28.5 and they fly well.
Don't give up too soon on the Beemans.

How long is your draw length?  The 2016's spine at 50/55.

A 2016 is .531 deflection.I think you changed the dynamic spine of the Beman's by adding 100grn inserts.You can try to shorten them,just shoot 2016's, or choose a heavier gpi carbon.

Rastaman, I mean to say the arrows are leaving marks on the riser and on the shelf lip. I have moved the nock point up bu 1/8-3/16" and that helped some. I think your right about the drawlength. I just measured the actual length from full draw to the front of the riser and it says 28" right on! Even tho the arrows only bareshafted abit left, I guess I was already too weak on spine huh? So if I trim shorter abit at a time, I should be able to stiffen them up some... So arrow length should end up about 28.5-29" right?

If you are sure the Beeman is shooting weak i would try trimming only one a little at the time...shoot it & try to get an average before you adjust anything else.  
Have you tried shooting them with feathers & if so, how did they shoot?

Rastaman, I just tried exactly that. I found that with 100 gr. inserts and 125 fieldpoints, I could easily cut them down to 29.25-29". the nocks are tight so that is hindering my groups, but I think I'm on the right track with the carbons anyways. With the one that I cut, I am getting 455 arrow weight, making about 9.3gr per pound. Is taht OK or will I need to add tubes or rope or something else.

For hogs & deer (unless it's a mean old nasty one like Terry shoots), that's plenty of weight...i shoot 125 grain magnus stinger 2 blades & had good results this past season.  Fix your string or your nocks before you go much further.  you can lightly sand them, but i prefer to have my strings custom made for the arrows/nocks i'm using.

Well, I hope so. I think my string is too heavy anyhow. Something tells me that it is 16 strand or something crazy.

Yeah, I got a bunch of Stinger 4 blades and had hoped to use them....I liked them out of my compound anyways.
