Well, it's finally done!

This has been alot of fun, and I've learned quite a bit about refinishing a bow. I made a few mistakes on this one, and it could have come out a little bit better. But overall, I'm pretty happy with it. Hopefully Andrew will also be happy with it.

I shot about a half dozen arrows out of it this afternoon. It's hard to have an opinion about the bow since it's the first (and only) recurve I've ever shot, and a much lighter draw weight than I'm used to. But I have to say that my silencing efforts sure did pay off. Before I started, it had some pretty bad string slap. Now it's probably the quietest bow I've ever heard.

I found a piece of PVC at my parents' house to ship it in. If I get home early enough tomorrow to get it packed up, it'll go out then. If not, I'll send the kids to the post office with it Friday morning.

That bow looks great Eric! Nice job. Andrew will be very happy with that bow. Thanks for helping him out. He is a great Scout who donated his old bows to my Cub Scouts. Thanks to you both!

Hope you're feeling better!

Andrew, I didn't make it to the post office this afternoon, but I will have my son walk down there in the morning. If you don't get it Saturday, it should definitely be there Monday. Tell your folks not to be worried when the mailman delivers a 6' long piece of PVC pipe!
