High Back Shield Cut Feather Question...
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:51:00 PM »
Guys, can any of you recomend a good place to buy high back left wing shield cut feathers?  Also, do these slow the arrow down more than regular shield cuts? They make a little more noise, but I anchor (2nd anchor/ Rick Welch taught me to shoot) off my nose to the feather and high backs make this a Whole Lot Easier!
Blessings,
Steve

As far as whether they will slow the arrow down more than a regular shield, the answer would have to be yes they do.

What is important to consider, though, is that it will have virtually no impact on trajactory or overall energy at normal shooting distances. IE. 30 yards or less.

While some guys like the look of them, a well tuned arrow shaft/bow comination doesn't require that much feather to stabilize the arrow in flight.
