I've been shooting elevated, stick-on rests on my recurve bows for about forty years and I like them a lot. They are simple (ala Hoyt), cheap and extremely effective for accommodating several spines of arrows. I am also cheap so I will show you how I make my own arrow rests that are also very effective and very, very cheap.
I posted this a few years ago so I figured it was time for an update. The base for the rests is a clip strip....that can be obtained at local retail store by asking management for some that they are going to throw away anyhow. There are generally many of them hanging about the stores...and many of those are empty. Most will just give you an empty clip or two.
