Stealth Recurve
« on: July 19, 2008, 03:28:00 AM »
I've just  bought an used stealth recuve   :archer:   (boyer Mike Sullivan), I'd like to know if there are other users arround...what is the recommended band?
As the design is close to BW TD, I suppose that I have to start with something arround 8 3/4
Thanks

The only Stealth Recurve is made by Jack Kemph out of sherwood park AB  I own one and it is a very fine bow fast smooth and a Joy to shoot I have never heard of any one else makeing a stealth if they are they are probably trying to copy Jacks bows   :readit:

If I read the initial post correctly, Mike Sullivan's Stealth design has the limbs attached to the belly side of the riser as opposed to Mr. Kempf's Stealth having the limbs mounted on the back side of the riser.  Mr. Kempf's Kwyk Styk has the limbs mounted on the belly of the riser, but without having seen Mike's Stealth I will stick my neck out and say I doubt the two bows look anything alike other than that similarity.

The guy they are talking about is from Missouri. I was not sure if he was still building bows or not. They are not copies of Jack Kempf's bows and this guy used to advertise in TBM magazine as well with a picture of a TD Recurve and Longbow in his ad's Flint

A "Stealth" bow is not unique to just one bowyer. Wes Wallace had a "stealth" line several years back they were made with maple actionwood in green, gray, and brown. I ordered a green one in 93 and sold it at denton hill about ten years later.
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!
