Just wondering who shoots one?  I've been thinking about switching.

I've always shot endless loop strings.  I've found their performance significantly better than Flemish strings....and they don't require much "shooting in" as there's much less stretch.

Rob DiStefano makes excellent endless loop strings.

I will agree that a poorly made flemish twist string will be slower than an average endless string.  However, I can not believe that an endless string is faster than a well made flemish.  To my ears(subjective) endless are MUCH louder as well.  I am sure I am biased as I build flemmish strings, but I would be willing to put one of my strings up against any endless on the market in a speed test off of a hooter shooter.  If the strand count and serving length is the same and of the same material. I don't think even the hooter shooter could find a speed plus for the endless.  (I will get off of my soap box now)  LOL!!!!

Besides shooting endless loop strings grows hair on your palms and will make you go blind, or so I have heard.

Endless loop has a steadyr pull and a more converting response than a flemish twist. A flemish twist you can make on the fly with no jig.

ive heard endless loops are quieter because of the less stretch especially when it is a fast flite
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.

IMO, for a hunting trad bow, it really doesn't matter whether the string is Flemish or endless.  I use both.  My preference is still spinning an endless bowstring, simply because I can build just one to a precise length, from the get-go.  And, I still believe endless has lots less inherent stretch.  But I also still like to twist up and shoot Flemish strings.  Go figure.  :D

You might just be right, I dunno for sure.  What does matter to me is building that first string to a precise length for a specific bow, without overbuilding the length and having to resort to even more twisting to shorten it.

To my ears(subjective) endless are MUCH louder as well.

IMHO, that *might* be true with naked strings as endless is just way less stretchy.  But I do prefer adding string silencers on all hunting bowstrings and my testing over the decades has shown that a good set of string silencers levels the audible playing field for any kinda bowstring.

I am sure I am biased as I build flemmish strings, but I would be willing to put one of my strings up against any endless on the market in a speed test off of a hooter shooter.  If the strand count and serving length is the same and of the same material. Like I said, you might just be right about both string types being equally fast in a controlled test.  But speed is not the reason for going endless - consistency and ease of build is, which is why 99% of all Olympic bows are fitted with endless strings.

Besides, shooting endless loop strings grows hair on your palms and will make you go blind, or so I have heard.

OMIGOD! I can't see! I CAN'T SEE!!!!   :D

Exactly why I like endless!  Of course now I'm wondering which weighs more, endless or flemish.

Properly made, there's very little difference in the two.  If the strings weigh the same (mass weight), the speed will be pretty much identical.  Flemish seems to be a little quieter in my experience.  Endless seems to be more consistent from one string maker to the next.  Flemish is more adjustable.

With the same number of strands, same size/length of center serving, etc. endless and flemish will weigh about the same.  I just wieghed a couple of strings I have lying around--they aren't exactly the same, but close.  The flemish string weighed less.

Maybe O.L. will chime in--I believe he's done a good bit of comparison here.  I'm sure there's a reason he went with flemish, as do at least some of the top IBO shooters.

Either way, IMO there's not enough difference that 99% of us can tell a difference in the way they perform (properly made).  I make both, and shoot flemish.

i started with endless, switched to flemish, only because they're easier to make.

I like the look of Flemish twist. I prefer to make my own strings and never got the hang of making a good Flemish string so I shoot endless loops.  Making endless loop strings are a piece of cake once you set up your jig and have made up a few.  I make a 2-3 for a bow whenever I have to make one, so I don't have to make them too often.  I put some string silencers on my strings (llama hair or mink fur strips when I have them) and don't pay too much attention to the noise factor. The strings I make are fast enough for me to hunt with.  I had a Flemish string come unraveled on me on a used bow that I bought, really surprised the crap out of me.  Never have had an endless loop string break or come apart.

I have shot both and have seen Brians Strings they are nice to be sure but endless that have beaver balls do not seem much louder but endless are way easier to build and take less skill to make well Not Many people take string makeing to as high a level as Brian  as far is noise is concerned every deer allways hear the bow shot no mater how quiet you think your rig is untill bows and arrows surpass the sound barrier that is the way it is like it or not   :readit:
