This is an Elk Ridge 13@16 . About 100 bucks. The quiver is a custom scaled down version of the Kanati by John Dill. DB

You can make PVC bows too that work. Traditional bowhunter had a how too a while back.
But they are ugly.

This thread is right on! I was about to buy a manufactured one for my oldest of 3 and 10months but a home made one will be much cooler for him and made by his old man. Nice!!!!

TX Tinman gave me that link the other day and I'm planning to build it for some father-son time this winter. It's taking everybit of my will to not start sooner. I figured that if we build one together, it will most likely NOT to be sold by him later and he'll have a little sumpin' to remember the ol' man by later on. Plus the price and ease to build it is a plus.

Go with the board bow. It's fun to make and easy for kids. I made one for my 3 year old and it was a little to heavy so I just made a super light one so he can pull it back "properly". When they get it down a little then buy one but you might be surprised at how nice of a bow you can make pretty easily in not that much time (for a kid...adult versions have proven much harder)

My four year old has an ElkRidge Archery Bow. 10# at 16inches. Curly Maple limbs with Bocote handle. He's been using it for a year now and I expect he will use it for a few more. His first bow...its a keeper...after that its all second had...haha....well see down the road...

I highly recommend Mike at Maddog Traditional Archery. Mike is a great guy to deal with, makes a great bow and is a sponsor here. Here is my daughter Brier with one on Mike's bows.

Another recommendation for Maddog. All three of my boys shoot them and they are great bows.
