Does anyone know if I can get a piece of Bear Hair material (or very similar) that isn't already cut? I want a piece that's about 4" x 8" and want to cover most of the riser.

All I can find is the samll pre-cut pieces. I want the durability of bear hair, but most felt pads are very thin.

Maybe Tandy leather?

Ask your local Taxidermist. I through pieces like them out all the time.
