Spine help
« on: July 29, 2008, 02:22:00 PM »
I'm never confident I've got the correct spine when integrating a new bow.  I'm about to order some shafts and would like to make sure I'm getting the right ones.    I've got a 66 inch longbow that pulls 62# at my draw of 28 inches.  I cut my shafts to 29.5-30 inches and use 160 grain Magnus broadheads or 160 gr. fieldpoints.

75-80?  Thanks in advance....

75-80 if you are using a fast flite string, and certainly if it's near centershot.  If not, 70-75 would probably do it.  In fact, either would probably work.  To know which will work best, will need to try each.  Might consider one of the test packages that some of the mail order houses offer.  Good luck.
