With a wife, two kids, one stressful full time job, and a part time job on the side, I would hunt deer now if they let me. The longer the season is the greater the chance I'll get an opportunity to get away. I'll be out there mid September chasing does.

I hunt hogs on private land year round.  State management lands open on 15 Aug for small game and hogs.  Deer on 13 Sep.  I will be hunting soon in the heat for hogs.
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

Leave for bear hunt on August 30 in MN.  Our MO deer seasong opens on September 15th. Good chance to nail a buck while still in the summer bean field routine. Yes I'll be out there. Squirrell season is open now, been open since May, I believe.  May try for the tree rats in the morning.

Hey John, hows that new Orion treating You? It's taking every ounce of willpower I have to keep from ordering one!!

The first week of bear season in Maine is Aug. 25 but Laura and I will not be going until the third week. We will get home on Sept. 13, 2 days before the NH archery season opens. Bear season in NH starts Sept. 1.

Bretto order away., you won't be disappointed. I am sooting mine pretty well. Getting tuned in pretty good. It is fast and quiet. Seems to shoot many combinations of arrows and heads great. It has been a blessing to my shooting since my health problems. Just what the doctor ordered. Bow shooting is the best rehab you can do for whatever ails you.
