Quiver Choice????
« on: August 01, 2008, 07:21:00 PM »
I am  looking for info/advice or personal experience on quiver choices for my elk hunt.  I normally use a backquiver for my hunting but I am going to be using a daypack out west and was wondering what some of you use when carrying a backpack.  I want something that will protect my feathers and carry my arrows quietly while running around in the mountains.  Any suggestions and experiences.  I have been looking at the Tim-o-lite from 3RVRS.

Yea, if you look at the picture of Denny on the first page of Terry's second link you will see the arrowmaster quiver in use with a pack.  I'm thinking that this is about as good as it gets when wanting to put arrows on your back, with or without a pack, without the arrows sticking up past one's shoulders.
If the quiver could be held firm in that position it should work well most of the time.  I am thinking a strap system that goes over the shoulder and around the waist might be in order there.

I am trying a GFA style quiver this season after many years of using a bow quiver.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

I walked/slipped/fell over 40 miles chasing bears with dogs in North Carolina. I used my Catquiver III with nothing but positive results.

Quiet and secure, plus roomy enough to haul enough "stuff" for a long day. I was most impressed when I had to get on all fours to get out of a laural thicket. If you don't think brush will be an issue I also used my GFA stalking black bears in BC Canada and was pleased with it.

the GFA style with a single broadhead bowquiver set up works well, too.
i was told by a sales person, when purchasing an out-of-date newpaper that it was out-of-date...

i told her "i've been told i'm out-of-date, too"...

does that mean i'm up-to-date?
