I'm in Tejas. The house is southeast of SanAntonio about an hour. I hunt around your area occasionally. It's about a 6 hour run to Del Rio from me. Welcome to Texas. CK

Ryan;
I also am just down the road in San Antonio.  Maybe we can do a shoot or two.  There is Vanderpool in April.  Camp Bullis 23 and 24 Aug.

Im in Hondo, about 2 hours east of Del Rio. There is public bow hunting in the Lake Amistad Area. Ive hunted there the last 2 yrs. Lots of deer and lots of hunters. But its not bad at all. Go to the National Park info area. You have to buy a 20.00 permit but that gets you through the deer season. Its really nice if you don't have a place to hunt.Check this out.

The deer are extremly hard to hunt, at least for me. I have not killed one their yet. The 3d shoots at camp bullis are a lot fun and good practice. Take your Drivers License and proof of insurance and your good to go. Theres a shoot on 8/23,24. Starts at 8:00am and it over around 2:00. There will be another one in Sept 20th and 21st. Let me know if I can help in any way. If you go to camp bullis you will pass right through Hondo. Take care. Gilbert

Sulphur Springs Tx here. Although i work in Garland. Just got into trad archery about a year ago. I recently made a new osage bow that i would love to hunt with. I must admit all my hunting has been with a rifle and long ago at that. Would love to hear about some public land to hunt on. I live on about 300 arces (not all mine, but my wifes family) not a whole lot of game on it though.
