I am possibly coming to the San Diego/San Onofre area to work for a couple of months in September. I would appreciate any info on shooting oppertunities, possibly 3-d ranges in the general area? Thanks for any help.

I don't live in San Diego now, but spent most of my military career there. There is a very nice public field range in Balboa Park near the zoo.

Hello, I'll give you a few. Bear State Archers just opened a new range in the mountains by lake henshaw
www.bearstatearchers.com.
Balboa has a range also
www.sandiegoarchers.com.
These are the only 2 at this time. bear state has a 28 target 3d range set up year around. PM me when you get here and I'll get you set up. Or you can call me @ 760-815-2586.......... there are some ranges up in the L.A. area that will be just as close also....Mark

There are a few guys here that live closer to north county San Diego that might be able to chime in and give better info. If you are up for a 45 min drive or less (people here drive way too fast,) Balboa Park has two sites you can shoot at. I believe it's a two dollar donation to the money poll for all day shooting.

Guys, I have been pleasantly surprised to receive more info about shooting ranges than I expected. It is filed away & I am hoping to come, should find out soon! Thanks to all of you for being kind enough to respond to my request
Sincerely.

Check San Diego Archers website for shoot dates. We do a couple a month. We trad shooters are outnumbered by the wheelies, but everyone I've met and shot with has been very nice. Hope to see ya there.
