I have a pronghorn long bow that has been strung since 1999. I have not lost a pound. I have seen though if they get hot you will loose some.

I don't use a stringer, I did with my recurved bow before I got my Shrew. I just do the push/pull to string/un-string the bow

If it has glass and/or carbon you can definitely leave it strung. Longbows tend to have longer, thicker limbs and their design should put less stress on them than a strung recurve. I don't get Black Widows's response at all since don't they preach to leave a recurve strung? Would BW expound?
