weight tubes!!!

Well I learned a lesson, weight tubes stink. I have been tinkering with arrows for awhile now trying to get a combo to fly good and be heavy. I was using axis 400s 28.5" w/8 grain weight tubes, and a variety a BHd weights. from 260 to 125. I get a mysterious kick in flight have been for awhile?? Beat myself up thinking I am torquing the string, bad release, BHds not lined up, bare shafting. You name it I tried it. Except for trying them withuot weight tubes.
Took out the weight tubes this evening and WOW - perfect flight - NO KICK - NOT ONCE.
Believe me I tried every last little detail before removing the tubes.
Now I have lost some weight - just gonna have to deal without. Might try to go to 125 grain steel adapters?? shooot 100 steel adapters now. Any suggestions?

Might check out the new trad heavies Ted Fry posted about not long ago. Are they like tapered one end to the other?
Thanks

I get mine to fly good, Beaman MFX 340's with 5 gpi.
Try fiddling with the nock point. I found mine flying a bit different with the weight tubes in. And fixed it with a higher nock point, just a 1/16th of an inch higher or so.
Just my .02 cents.

Love the 400 shaft outta my bow but the weight tubes I had issues with, least that is what I found through deductive logic. Tried everything in the book before removing the tubes. Maybe my bow doesn't eat them well. AK I had tried my nock point as well and that did not get it?? I guess the setup just doesn't like weight tubes.

When you add weight it slows your bow, might try a bit heavier head along with the tubes...JMHO

Weight tubes are fine but you have to match bow spine. Saying weight tubes are no good might be like saying 250 gr points are no good. On some set ups a 250 gr point might be the only thing that works, on others, not so. Shaft spine is critical, anytime you add 5gr/in or 150 or so grains, it will change the speed of the shaft, thus changing spine.

try a lighter wt. tube. that will change the spine, the FOC and it will still get the weight around what your looking for.
