Okay, I give in

There have been several threads about hunting shows on here recently. Some of you have been in favor of them and some not so much. I personally think we need to keep promoting the traditions of hunting and SOME of these shows help with that. Therefore I am generally in favor of these shows.

However, a few of these shows I can no longer watch because they are getting too close/past the edge of ethics on shot selection. I finally have to agree with the sentiment that I won't watch some of them anymore. I give in, so to speak, but with another idea.

There has been a disturbing trend lately.  Recently, many of these shows are starting to show hunters creating situations, via shot selection, that would give anti-hunters more ammunition to fight against our traditions.

I have started sending respectful, but very deliberate, e-mails to the various producers of these shows.  If you too are concerned that some of these shows are not up to par, PLEASE BECOME PROACTIVE and respectfully request they step up their game. Help them to understand the need to protect our way of life.

It never hurts to request they broadcast not only more ethical shows, but ask them to include more traditional archery as well.

We must continue to work and make sure we, as hunters, and all hunters be shown in the best light possible. I don't care about political correctness, but rather people see what is  the respectful, natural and ethical side of what we do as hunters. If you have seen a recent example of poor ethics in shot selection, please contact the producer for that show.  Maybe they can be convinced to be more careful in editing and broadcasting.
