Cheap belt mounted Quiver
« on: August 25, 2008, 02:58:00 PM »
I had an extra Quikee Kwiver and wanted to use it this year.  The problem was I didn't want to drill hole in my bow.  I was going to strap it to my backpack but wanted access to my arrows if I needed them right away.  This is what I came up with.

This is a old cell phone belt clip and a spare quiver attachment. I cut the edges off that would hold the phone.

I then used epoxy to glue the 2 parts together and put it in a clamp to help with the bond.

This is what it looks like on the quiver.

This is what it looks like on your hip.

It can rotate almost 360 degrees.  All I have to do is un clip it and hang it on a branch or small hook.
Sorry for the bad pics.  I had to use my cell phone.

I did one the same basic way, just bent some sheet metal and mounted the quiver holder. Its alot like the one mark baker sells. I think this way of carrying arrows is pretty good, on and off easy, quite and very cheap.

I just cut an 18" section of bamboo and drill out 2 slots at the top for a belt. Leave a node section for the bottom, bust out the others. Free, and can be made in less than 10 minutes.

Yeah, I'm cheap.

Sorry if this is a hijack- your idea is better than mine (if you've got a cell phone holder laying around), but I figure mine counts as a "cheap belt mounted quiver".

Thanks for the replies.

It is very sturdy and light.

I used an old smasung phone holder.  You could use just about any blet type holder and it should work.  I probabley could find another phone holder in my house if I look hard enough, then I will make another one for a back-up.
