Ideas for kid prizes...?
« on: August 26, 2008, 10:47:00 AM »
Our muzzleloader club is hosting the KMA rondyvoo in November and we want to have a kids only, 10 and under, archery shoot. Anyone out there got any ideas on something we could give as prizes? Everyone will get something but I'm not sure what...
Suggestions and sources would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

How many kids are you expecting? What's the budget?

Killdeer~resting on brass tacks.  :scared:
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

We usually give them red white and blue ribbons with big gold coins like the olympics.  you can get then from most award companies for a dollar or two

Get a Gift certificate from Black Rhino Bows. Then they can order themselves a nice little bow to keep them interested int he sport.

One of the things our club has done in the past is get them wildlife prints.  Prints can found in different sizes and are very reasonably priced.  The kids seem to love them and usually hang them in their rooms.

To get ya off the "brass tacks" Killdeer,(sorry bout the delay, I'm at work...)
We won't know how many will show up and our budget is not a whole lot...50$ tops I think .
Thanks for the suggestions so far. The medals might be a way to go but the ones that I've seen don't look too "old timey". This is a pre-1840's rondy so something that fits the surroundings would be better.
I like the print idea but the bow certificate idea is good but probably out of our budget.
I appreciate the input folks.

Just googled it up and they look pretty good.

You could have a primitive arrow, mounted on an plaque, or old arrowhead; with engraved plate of event and place.

Give a kid a couple of raffle tickets and it is amazing what items they will choose to put the tickets on.

Kids dig anything they can hang on their quiver.  Feathers, keychains, boar tusks, etc.  are monster hits with kids.  They also love knapped arrow heads, shark teeth, painted deer jaw bones, and other small things like that.  It does not have to be a big thing to get a big response.
