Arrow building tutorial.......
«

Hello, I am thinking of going ahead and giving arrow building a try. While I have done the maintainence on my aluminum arrows I am looking at building some nice port orford cedar arrows. Now, I have no experience doing so and was wondering if there is a good tutorial that I could use as a guide to help me. Thanks alot, Craig

I'm no expert by any means, but two years ago I did my first batch of woods and documented my experience. Here is a link:

I hope you can get something out of it.

Craig,
Caught your post. Great subject. Just started myself and I'm following along.
Purchased 29", 31" and 33" shafts. 31's and 33's on the advice of good people on this site.
I'm not going to give any advice, but sure glad you brought the subject up at this time.
Good luck with the woods.

If you're going to build wooden arrows you gotta get T.J. Conrads book "The Traditional Bowhunters Handbook." He covers every aspect of building wooden arrows. I thought I had gotten the hang of it after I started but then I picked up his book and realized there was a lot I was missing. It will REALLY help start you off right and serve as a reference incase your memory is a bad as mine.
