Transporting recurve during hunting season?

This is my first year shooting a recurve during hunting season.  I have hunted with a compound for years.  At the start of the season I load all my needed gear and clothes in the back of the pickup.  That way if I can get out of work early enough I can drive to a hunting spot, change up and head in for the last hour or two.  The compound would ride nicely in the back wedged between the container of clothes and climber.  I am worried about transporting my new bow without damaging it.  How do you all transport your bows during the season?
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I leave mine strung and throw it in the back seat, in your case I would leave it unstrung and put it in a bow sock, then string it up when you get to your spot.

Kathy Kelly strung recuve case if I'm close to home. If i break the bow down for traveling, It's in a Rod Jenkins Safari-Tuff takedown case.

Unstrung! especially if in a vehicle. In Maine, you probably don't have to worry about the heat delaminating a bow like we do here in Florida, but when in transport, I keep mine unstrung and in a soft case in the cab of the truck to keep it from getting "dinged up".
I have the luxury of having a crew-cab pickup, so mine rides horizontally on the back seat with extra clothes and other soft gear around it.
If you want to keep it in the bed of the truck, I'd look into a hard case of sometype.
Good luck this season maineac!

Unstrung and laying in or on a folded blanket with the fletching exposed.  Last in and first out.

In a soft case if strung up...in a bow sock if not...

I have a strung case if it's cold enough to not overheat in the pickup with touneau cover. Back seat if I am going right to my hunting area. Unstrung sock otherwise.

You have a pick up, bow sock behind the seat.

When in Jersey...KK strung recurve case...also need it for Canada when going to and from your hunting area. Otherwise, throw it behind my seat in the truck (club cab). Longbow...bowsock...

Thanks all.  I saw the Cathy Kelly case and wondered about using that.  I have an 03 Tacoma, so the bow does not fit horizontal behind the seat I have to angle it in.  Plus the dogs ride behind the seat (xtra cab) on the days I don't go bowhunting, but shoot out to a cover for some grouse and woodcock hunting.  So I am trying to find a safe way to carry it in the back of the truck.  It is a pretty bow, so I don't want to "ding" it up if I can help it.
