Idaho elk adventure . . .2008
« on: September 06, 2008, 07:35:00 AM »
Jason and I have 6 days til we leave and 7 bows that are promised for delivery.  Luckily 4 are ready for finish.  I will get the other 3 ready this weekend and next week will be spent finishing and making bow blanks for customers.

Also got to put new fenders on the trailer, get the aux. fuel tank installed in the truck, find our camp gear and pack.

I know I'm whining about having to get ready for an elk hunt.  LOL

Going to be a great year!!

First time in a years that Jason and I will be solo.  Looking forward to teaming up on the bulls and bringing one home.

Stay tuned for more whining.

I'm leaving for Spokane and then Moscow Idaho Friday evening.  We're hunting the McCall Zone. The bow's on the way to my buddy right now.   I finally packed, and then repacked, my backpack last night.  It's less than 40 pounds which was my goal.  I am so stoked about this hunt.

Unfortunately, I have to go on a float hunt for squirrels and doves in about 30 minutes with my Dad so I won't be able to stay on here and whine with you.

I sure hope you and Jason have a good time.  I'm looking forward to your pics and stories.  Be safe.  Watch out for wolves  :)

We are in the Weiser River Units to the west of you guys.  I hunted the McCall units for years but got chased out by fires and wolves.  LOL

I making progress on the list.  Two bows tillered and at weight this morning.  Five sets of tip overlays installed.  Waiting for the glue to dry and then I'll get em shaped and ready for sanding when Jason gets home Monday.

Rusty's on his way out to visit so I'll take some time to shoot bows and shoot the bull.  LOL

Well another day scratched off of the calender.  Got the strings for our bows in the mail yesterday so I guess, I'll be shooting mine in this morning before I start grinding lams.  Got to run out and put some snakes on a couple of bows now.  TTYL

Gotta find the tent and stuff today.  Maybe a few kitchen items.  LOL
