Messing around with weight...
« on: September 09, 2008, 02:07:00 PM »
Was just messing arround today and put hose up the entire lenth of a 2315 arrow, took the weight up from 470grains to 1040grains!
Seems to shoot ok, was getting dark.
I did notice a huge increase in penetration, I shoot at a bag target and normally get them in arround 6-8 inches, the heavy arrow blows right through and through a 1.5 inch door with a field point.
Speed is slightly down but I'm only hitting 1-1.5 inch lower at 18yards, that is at 68# on my Border Black Douglas.

Had to tell I was so impressed  :bigsmyl:
Black Douglas 68#
Wing Gull 60#
Hoyt Havoc 80#
Coupla other wheelies.
If ya gonna be stupid, you better be tough!

sounds good Leon, 1040 grs is a Lot of arrow    have you tried packing the weight up the front for a higher foc instead of overall arrow weight?
There is more to the Hunt.. then the Horns
